Types of Play
Independent Play - Blocks, toy figures, dress-up costumes, musical instruments, dolls, push toys, and books.
Cooperative Play - Uses all of the social skills, building a puzzle together, playing a board game, or enjoying an outdoor group activity.
Constructive Play - Teaches kids about building, and fitting things together. Using cognitive skills to figure out how to make something work.
Symbolic Play - Vocal activities, Graphic arts, music etc help children learn to express themselves whilst processing their experiences, ideas, and emotions.
Dramatic Play - Your child's imagination gets a workout! They learn how to take turns, cooperate, and share, and they work on language development.
Physical Play - Builds gross and fine motor skills. Physical play encourages kids to develop fitness skills and to enjoy physical activity, which provides lifelong benefits.
